Shared spreadsheet locked by another user
Webb9 juli 2024 · I have been working on an excel document for making employee schedules for my work, using excel 2010. One issue that we constantly have is that a user may have the workbook open and forget to close it before they leave. They are still logged into the computer (a shared computer) but that user profile is locked, and another user logs in. Webb23 sep. 2024 · What worked to fix it was to open excel and find the item I edited from the recent list (it showed the pathway like "SharePoint page > reviews library"). I then opened this document. Then I went to the file tab > select close. Then when I went back to the library, it let me reupload and change the properties -- the error was gone.

Webb29 jan. 2014 · Whenever someone opens the file, it is locked, and if someone else tries to open it, they are notified that it has been opened. So far, so good. The problem is that, regardless of what user has actually opened the file, the file is always marked as locked by the same user. The user reports that this only happens with one file. If he unfreezes the panes he can scroll down, but when he is freezing first 4 rows (as we need) again the whole sheet is being frozen. The scroll bar is moving but not the rows...
